GST reforms slash rates on cars, farm equipment, and daily essentials
The GST Council has rolled out sweeping reforms that make everything from cars to daily household essentials cheaper. Petrol, diesel, hybrid, and CNG vehicles under specific engine capacities will now attract just 18% GST instead of 28%. Farmers benefit with tractors and parts taxed at only 5%. Essential items like hair oil, shampoo, toothpaste, soaps, dairy products, and namkeens also fall under the 5% slab. With these rate cuts, both consumers and industries are set to gain from lower costs and improved affordability.
