GST Reforms : AC, TV, Fridge होंगे सस्ते! सरकार ने घटाया GST | New GST Rates | Zee Business
The GST Council has announced a major relief for consumers ahead of the festive season. The government has reduced GST on several essential electronic appliances from 28% to 18%. This reduction will directly impact the prices of big-ticket items like Air Conditioners, LED and LCD TVs above 32 inches, Monitors, Projectors, and Dish Washing Machines.
Industry experts estimate that air conditioners alone may become cheaper by ₹1,500–₹2,500, depending on the model. TVs and dishwashers will also see noticeable price cuts, making them more affordable for middle-class families. The move is expected to boost demand in the consumer electronics sector during the Diwali shopping season.
However, smartphones will not see any change. They already fall under the 18% GST slab, and the government has made no revisions for them.
