RBI के नए Nomination Rules लागू, अब Bank Account में पैसे मिलेंगे बिना झंझट | RBI | Banking | Banks
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has implemented new Nomination Rules from today to enhance transparency and customer convenience in the banking system. Under the new rules, every bank must offer a nomination facility to all customers for their accounts, lockers, and safe custody items. The process of adding, changing, or canceling a nominee must be completed within 3 working days. Banks must also clearly mention “Nomination Registered” on the passbook, account statement, or term deposit receipt.
These rules will simplify the claim process after the account holder’s death, making it easier for the nominee to receive funds or valuables without lengthy legal formalities. The rules are also extended to proprietorship accounts, ensuring coverage for small business owners. RBI has directed banks to conduct awareness campaigns to educate customers about the importance of nomination. With these new regulations, 31 old circulars (1986–2021) stand canceled.
