चीन की राजनीति और सेना की दुनिया में इस वक्त जबरदस्त हलचल है. राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग ने अपनी ही सेना के सबसे ताकतवर जनरल झांग यौशिया को अचानक पद से हटा दिया है. यह फैसला चीन की सेना में अब तक की सबसे बड़ी और चौंकाने वाली कार्रवाई मानी जा रही है. झांग सेंट्रल मिलिट्री कमीशन के उपाध्यक्ष थे, जिसके अध्यक्ष खुद शी जिनपिंग हैं. यानी वो शी जिनपिंग के बाद सबसे ताकतवर सैन्य अधिकारी थे, जो अब गंभीर अनुशासनहीनता और कानून उल्लंघन के आरोपों में जांच के घेरे में हैं. चीन के रक्षा मंत्रालय ने शनिवार को इसकी पुष्टि की. इसके साथ ही सेना के जॉइंट स्टाफ डिपार्टमेंट के प्रमुख रह चुके जनरल ल्यू झेनली को भी इसी तरह के आरोपों में हटाया गया है. चीन में इस तरह की भाषा आमतौर पर भ्रष्टाचार या सत्ता संघर्ष के संकेत मानी जाती है.
