Yemen’s Houthis say military chief killed in Israeli strike; Israel confirms | N18G | Tel Aviv
Yemen’s Houthi says their military chief of staff, Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in late August. The strike reportedly hit a leadership compound in the capital, Sanaa, and also killed his 13-year-old son. Israel’s Defence Minister confirmed the death, calling it part of an operation targeting senior Houthi commanders. The Houthis vowed revenge, while Israel accused al-Ghamari of directing drone and missile attacks on Red Sea shipping. The killing comes as a Gaza ceasefire continues to hold, though both sides remain prepared for renewed confrontation.
