World War II bomb found at Changi Airport construction site safely disposed of
A controlled disposal of a 250kg World War II bomb was carried out at the construction site of Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 5 early Thursday (Apr 2) morning.

The Singapore Armed Forces’ Explosive Ordnance Disposal team deemed it unsafe to move, leading to an on-site detonation. Eyewitnesses reported a loud blast and smoke rising from the cordoned area.

The bomb is believed to be one of the largest war relics ever uncovered in Singapore, and is rare as a naval warfare device rather than a land-based weapon.
