When developed countries draw back, China steps in
“While some developed countries are stepping back a little from what we call global environmental governance, China is actively stepping in.” As China’s Ecological Environment Code is set to be submitted for deliberation at this year’s two sessions, #UnboxingChina interviewed Dimitri de Boer, director for China of ClientEarth and special advisor of CCICED. He noted that China’s strong push for environmental rule of law stems from “a deep desire to see a green and sustainable future”.
