What is (and isn’t) on the agenda for Carney’s first trip to India
Prime Minister Mark Carney is making his first trip to India, joining a list of Canadian ministers and premiers who’ve visited New Delhi in the last few months in hopes of striking new deals as trade tensions with the U.S. continue to disrupt relations in both countries.
The visit carries the potential for a new free-trade agreement but has also upset members of Canada’s Sikh community over targeted violence allegedly linked to the Modi government.
