बंगाल का बैटल दिलचस्प हो चला है…बंगाल चुनाव के सबसे बड़े हॉटस्पॉट की बात करें तो वो है भवानीपुर सीट…जहां ममता बनर्जी Vs सुवेंदु अधिकारी की जबरदस्त टक्कर है…आज ममता बनर्जी ने भवानीपुर सीट से अपना नामांकन भर दिया है…ममता 2011 से लगातार भवानीपुर में चुनाव जीतती आ रही हैं…लेकिन इस बार वो मुश्किल चुनाव में फंसी हुई है…इसके अलावा SIR के बाद भवानीपुर का समीकरण पूरी तरह बदल सकता है….2021 उपचुनाव में ममता केवल 58 हजार वोट से जीती थीं..लेकिन उसके बाद भवानीपुर में SIR में करीब 44 हजार वोट कट चुके हैं…14 हजार 154 संदिग्ध वोटर्स की भी जांच हुई है..अगर इन दोनों को मिला दें तो ममता की जीत का फासला बेहद कम हो जाता है….यही वजह है कि ममता बनर्जी ने नॉमिनेशन से पहले आज एक बार फिर कहा कि जिनके नाम कटे हैं उन्हें वोट का अधिकार मिलना चाहिए…आपको बता दें कि अगर 2021 उपचुनाव और 2024 लोकसभा चुनाव से तुलना करें तो ममता 2021 के उपचुनाव में भवानीपुर के सभी 8 वार्ड में जीती थी…लेकिन 2024 चुनाव में बीजेपी ने 5 वार्ड में बाजी मारी थी…भवानीपुर में कुल 269 बूथ हैं…पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी इसमें 149 पर आगे थी…दक्षिण कोलकाता में आने वाली भवानीपुर सीट पर टीएमसी की लीड केवल 8,297 रह गई थी

The battle for Bengal has become intriguing. If we were to identify the biggest hotspot of the Bengal elections, it would undoubtedly be the Bhabanipur seat—the venue for a fierce showdown between Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari. Today, Mamata Banerjee filed her nomination papers for the Bhabanipur seat. Mamata has been consistently winning elections in Bhabanipur since 2011; however, this time around, she finds herself embroiled in a challenging electoral contest. Furthermore, the political dynamics of Bhabanipur could undergo a complete transformation following the *SIR* (Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls) process. In the 2021 by-election, Mamata won by a margin of just 58,000 votes; however, since then, approximately 44,000 votes have been struck off the electoral rolls in Bhabanipur during the *SIR* exercise. Additionally, the credentials of 14,154 suspected voters have been subjected to scrutiny. If one factors in both these elements, Mamata’s victory margin shrinks significantly. This is precisely why, prior to filing her nomination today, Mamata Banerjee reiterated her stance that those whose names have been struck off the rolls must be granted their right to vote. It is worth noting that a comparison between the 2021 by-election and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections reveals a shift in the political landscape: while Mamata had secured victory in all eight wards of Bhabanipur during the 2021 by-election, the BJP emerged victorious in five of those wards during the 2024 elections. Bhabanipur comprises a total of 269 polling booths; in the previous Lok Sabha elections, the BJP held the lead in 149 of these booths. Consequently, the TMC’s lead in the Bhabanipur constituency—which falls under South Kolkata—dwindled to a mere 8,297 votes.
