Groceries are expensive. That statement won’t come as a shock, but just how much some key staples have risen in the past five years might. A dozen eggs is up 158% in that time period, ground beef is up 52% in that same period. While price increases have slowed, they are still inching up thanks to climate change, geo-politics and new tariffs.
So how can you stretch your dollar the most at the grocery store? To answer those questions and more, PBS News’ Tim McPhillips spoke to Brian Vines, Deputy Special Projects Editor at Consumer Reports, who has covered deals and grocery shopping, to break down the best ways to save money at the grocery store.
