US Defense Secretary Hegseth claims ‘decisive military victory’ over Iran
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, held a briefing on Iran from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Mr Hegseth said the US has had a decisive military victory over Iran and that Tehran’s missile programme has been functionally destroyed. General Caine said US military objectives in Iran have been met but the ceasefire is a pause and forces remain ready to resume combat. Jagruti Dave reports from Washington DC.
