US and Iran agree on 2-week ceasefire, Strait of Hormuz to reopen
The United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on Tuesday (Apr 7), less than two hours before Washington’s deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump, who had earlier warned that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if his demands were not met, announced the deal. He also added that Iran had agreed to the “immediate” reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Pakistan mediated the ceasefire and is set to host talks between the two sides on Friday. #usiranwar #trump
