UN says trans-Atlantic slave trade was ‘gravest crime against humanity’ #CGTN

The UN has adopted Ghana’s proposed resolution to designate the trans-Atlantic slave trade as the “gravest crime against humanity.” All EU countries abstained due to the resolution’s implication of a “hierarchy” of atrocities, its suggestion of a “retroactive application” of international law, and its references to reparations.
