Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on Ukraine’s decision to halt negotiations with Russia, warning that “sooner or later they will have to negotiate, but from a much worse position.” Speaking in Moscow, Peskov said the Ukrainian government’s refusal to maintain dialogue is “regrettable” and affirmed that Russia will continue its special military operation to achieve its goals. Addressing U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks on potential nuclear testing, Peskov said such actions could mark a U.S. withdrawal from the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. He reiterated that Russia remains open to peace through political and diplomatic means.
