US.: White house economic advisor Kevin Hassett warned that fourth quarter GDP could turn negative if the shutdown continues, especially with travel disruptions hitting one of the busiest economic periods of the year. Treasury secretary Scott Bessent says growth estimates for this quarter may be cut by as much as half.
