Drone footage early Thursday morning shows entire neighbourhoods, streets and shops in Thai Nguyen City underwater. Cars can be seen almost completely inundated as rescue teams conducted search and rescue operations to reach stranded residents.

“My house is over there, the first floor is flooded, we can’t go in to check the damage yet,” said resident Nguyen Huy Dinh, watching helplessly, surrounded by water.

Locals gathered near flooded streets, hoping for assistance.
