Two-week ceasefire in Iran war: Breaking down the US-Iran truce
Hours before a US deadline for major strikes on Iran’s civilian infrastructure was set to expire, Washington and Tehran accepted a Pakistani-brokered two-week ceasefire. Under the deal, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz while the US and Israel will suspend military operations. Both sides will pause attacks for two weeks as talks move forward. US President Trump has called it a step toward a broader agreement, while Iran says this is only a temporary pause – and not the end of the war. What more do we know about the ceasefire deal? What are the conditions of both sides? And can this two-week window form a lasting peace, or could this be a tactical pause before a wider war?

Guests in this episode of Dialogue are Professor Huang Jing from Shanghai International Studies University; Anthony Moretti, associate professor at Robert Morris University; Ghanbar Naderi, journalist and political commentator; and Muhammad Zamir Assadi, editor of China Desk at Internews Pakistan.
