TVK Rally Stampede | Vijay Rally Turns Deadly: No Water, Massive Crowd, 39 Lives Lost
At least 39 people were killed and nearly 100 others injured in a stampede at a political rally held by Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Karur on Saturday. A tragic stampede unfolded at Superstar Vijay’s rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, after a massive crowd far exceeding expectations gathered at the venue. The event was scheduled for the early afternoon, but with no access to food or water, attendees began fainting. By 7 PM, as Vijay arrived and began his speech, the crowd surged forward, causing people-especially those behind his vehicle-to collapse in the chaos. Vijay halted his speech and left immediately. The tragedy resulted in 39 deaths and dozens injured. Vijay flew out the same night, while the political fallout and investigation continue.
