सूरज उगने से पहले वो खबर आई जिसका पूरी दुनिया ने स्वागत किया. 40 दिन के बाद ईरान और अमेरिका के बीच पन्द्रह दिन के लिए सीजफायर हो गया. प्रेसीडेंट डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने इसका एलान किया. ईरान ने भी इसे कन्फर्म किया. ईरान का दावा है कि अमेरिका ने उसके दस प्वाइंट के प्रस्ताव को सैद्धांतिक तौर पर मंजूर किया है. इसके तहत ईरान स्ट्रट ऑफ होर्मूज खोलेगा, लेकिन स्ट्रैट पर ईरान का ही कब्जा रहेगा. हालांकि ट्रंप ने दावा किया कि ईरान में सत्ता परिवर्तन हो गया है. अमेरिका का यही उद्देश्य था, नई लीडरशिप का रूख पॉजिटिव होगा.

President Donald Trump announced the development, and Iran subsequently confirmed it. Iran claims that the United States has, in principle, accepted its ten-point proposal. Under this agreement, Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz; however, the Strait will remain under Iranian control. Conversely, Trump asserted that a change of power has taken place within Iran—a primary objective of the United States—and that the new leadership is expected to adopt a positive stance.
