Trump News LIVE: Donald Trump’s Fiery UNGA Speech Stuns the World | United Nations Live | UNGA
Donald Trump Live, US President Donald Trump is now addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York.Trump’s speech comes as the United States has withdrawn funding and support for U.N. programs. The U.N.’s secretary general warned that the organization’s principles “are under siege.” Trump begins his address by hitting out at the previous US administration, blaming his presidential predecessor for a repeated “set of disasters”. He says eight months into his second term, the US is the “hottest country” in the world, a phrase he frequently uses. “This is indeed the golden age of America,” he says.Trump took credit for ending seven wars, listing conflicts ranging from Pakistan and India to Israel and Iran’s 12-day war. “It’s too bad that I had to do these things instead of the United Nations doing them,” he said.
He questioned the purpose of the U.N.
“What is the purpose of the United Nations? The U.N. has such tremendous potential. I’ve always said it. It has such tremendous, tremendous potential. But it’s not even coming close to living up to that potential. For the most part, at least for now, all they seem to do is write a really strongly worded letter and then never follow that letter up. It’s empty words and empty words don’t solve war.”
