Gastric cancer is often called a “silent killer” because its early symptoms are subtle and easily overlooked. As a result, many patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage.
CGTN spoke with Ji Jiafu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Department of Surgery at Peking University Cancer Hospital. He said that with modern technology, early detection and proper treatment, many cancers can now be managed or even cured, transforming from a fatal disease into a chronic condition.
