Susan Monarez, the ousted director of the CDC, testifies on Capitol Hill that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. directed her to dismiss career officials responsible for vaccine policy without cause and to approve recommendations of a key vaccine panel regardless of scientific evidence. The committee that offers up recommendations over which vaccines should be taken and when could make major changes as several new members of that group selected by Kennedy share his vaccine skepticism.
