The US and Israel Claim Iran Plotted To “Assassinate” Israeli Ambassador to Mexico | Firstpost |N18G
Officials from the US and Israel accused Iran of “plotting the assassination” of the Israeli Ambassador to Mexico, Einat Kranz Neiger. The officials said Mexico thwarted the plot with the help of US and Israeli intelligence. However, Mexican authorities have denied any knowledge of an alleged Iranian plot. According to US officials, the plot was hatched at the end of 2024 and remained active till the middle of 2025. According to reports, US Intel documents suggest an IRGC official initiated the plot, which involved other Iranian officials serving Iran’s ambassador to Venezuela. The US said that “Iran’s abhorrent plots are inconsistent with the behaviour of a civilised state.” The US has long accused Iran of seeking to assassinate former and current American and Israeli officials.
