Every year during the two sessions, China’s annual political gathering, deputies from across the country come together in Beijing at the Great Hall of the People.

Today, we want to tell the story of one of them. Li Cuili is not a celebrity or a political elite. She runs a small grocery store in a rural village in Henan province.
