A draft Ecological and Environmental Code, currently under review at the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress, includes provisions on wildlife protection.

In Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, technology-enabled monitoring and protection of wild Asian elephants offer a vivid example of the principle of harmony between humans and nature highlighted in the draft code.
