Talks to have TV station dedicated for culture
A new television station dedicated to local culture could be on the horizon.

Earlier this year, the National Library Service launched Radio Bimshire, an audio platform aimed at preserving the island’s cultural and historical legacy.

Now, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight, says the Division of Culture is exploring the idea of having a TV platform.

She made the disclosure at last night’s Christ Church Ideas Forum, noting that there was a significant amount of Barbadian content coming out of CARIFESTA 15.

Minister Munro-Knight also revealed that next year an app will be launched for the Season of Emancipation to give the public more information about the season.
