Sudan In Crisis: Red Cross Says ‘History Repeating, Worse Every Time’ After Darfur Falls | Watch
The head of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric, warns that “history is repeating itself” in Sudan’s Darfur region after reports of mass killings during the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) capture of al-Fashir, the Sudanese army’s last stronghold in Darfur. The ICRC says tens of thousands have fled, while many remain trapped without food, water, or medical aid. The UN and rights groups accuse the RSF of atrocities, which the group denies. Spoljaric urged nations backing warring parties to restrain them, calling the situation “absolutely beyond what we can consider acceptable.”
