Stroke Support Station’s Ng Rei Na on supporting younger patients, novel recovery approaches
Stroke Support Station (S3) has seen a 20% jump in stroke cases among younger adults in Singapore over the past decade. According to S3’s executive director Ng Rei Na, there is also a trend of haemorrhagic stroke — a more serious type of stroke — occurring in younger people. The group is using its findings to close rehabilitation gaps for women and the Malay-Muslim community, while rethinking recovery for a new generation of survivors. Rachel Teng reports.
