Singapore announces nearly S$1b support for workers, businesses & households as fuel prices rise
The government will roll out close to S$1 billion in additional support to help Singaporeans manage cost pressures amid heightened uncertainty during the Iran war, said Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 7).
The additional support measures include S$200 cash relief for active platform workers and taxi drivers, enhanced corporate income tax rebates, and an earlier disbursement of the S$500 in CDC Vouchers announced at Budget 2026.
The Budget 2026 Cost-of-Living Special Payment will also be increased by S$200 for all eligible Singaporeans, bringing it to between S$400 and S$600 in cash per person.
