For over 30 years, Wang Runmei, a Shanxi deputy to the National People’s Congress, has dedicated herself to clearing sewers and managing flood drainage. Her team is mostly composed of female members, and what makes it particularly special is that all three successive leaders have been women. They safeguard over a hundred streets and thousands of sewers in Taiyuan.
