World's first wind power lighthouse factory goes smarter

After being named the world’s first lighthouse factory in the wind power sector, the Sany Renewable Energy blade factory in southern China’s Hunan Province is including more updates to its already high-tech facility.

The factory can produce about 3,000 80-meter-long onshore blades annually and is Asia’s largest single-site wind turbine blade production center.

A Morgan Stanley research report shows that in the first seven months of the year, China added 54 gigawatts of newly installed wind power capacity with that number expected to top over 100 by the end of the year.
