The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Thursday cited Curlee Discaya in contempt after finding inconsistencies in his statements regarding the absence of his wife, Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya, at the hearingSarah Discaya failed to attend the inquiry after sending a letter to the committee stating that she had an important meeting with her employees. However, during the session, her husband Curlee told senators she was unable to appear due to a “heart condition.”
The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, led by Senator Rodante Marcoleta, is probing alleged corruption in government-funded flood control projects. Out of 15 contractors invited to testify at Tuesday’s hearing, only 11 responded, with just seven actually appearing—represented by their owners, executives, or legal counsels. In response to the glaring absences, the committee swiftly approved the issuance of subpoenas to compel the attendance of those who failed to show up.
