SBI Life reported a strong Q2 with margins holding steady at 26–28%, even as GST and new business strain weighed on profitability. MD & CEO Amit Jhingran tells ET Now’s Ankur Mishra that while GST trimmed margins by ~1.4%, operating levers and product mix shifts toward non-linked, guaranteed-return, and protection products will offset much of the hit.
