Russia Backs Venezuela’s Maduro Amid US Strikes On Alleged Drug Boats; 3 Killed In Latest Hit | N18G
A US strike on an alleged drug-trafficking vessel in the Caribbean killed three people, the Pentagon confirmed, as Washington intensifies its maritime campaign against narcotics smuggling. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the operation targeted “narco-terrorists” in international waters, part of a series of strikes that have left over 60 people dead since September. The UN condemned the attacks as unlawful, urging the US to halt operations. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro accused Washington of using anti-drug actions as a pretext for regime change. Russia also denounced what it called the “excessive use of force” and reaffirmed support for Venezuela’s government, saying the strikes breach international law.
