Rubio stressed that the US now seeks “exciting new opportunities” in Central Asia, emphasising deeper economic ties, market access, and cooperation on responsible development.

The talks come as Central Asia—home to some of the world’s largest untapped rare earth and critical mineral deposits, becomes increasingly important for global supply chains.

The C5+1 summit, gathering the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, will be held at the White House on Thursday, chaired by President Donald Trump.
