Reuters Venezuela, US spar at UN over Maduro’s capture

Samuel Moncada, Venezuela’s ambassador to the U.N., said his country was “the subject of an armed and illegitimate attack lacking all legal justification,” following Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s capture by the United States over the weekend.

Mike Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., rejected such accusations of aggression against Venezuela at the emergency Security Council meeting, saying the operation was a law enforcement action tied to longstanding criminal charges.
