President Xi watches century-old ‘Fanlihua’ performance at Beijing holiday market #CGTN

Ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited a holiday market at Longfusi commercial area in Beijing.

A vendor demonstrated “Fanlihua,” a traditional toy performance passed down for generations. President Xi watched closely, praised the three moves – blessings and longevity, prosperity in full bloom, and good fortune for the nation – and even bought two items.

The Longfusi commercial area is a vivid example of Beijing’s urban renewal, an old neighborhood blending traditional shops, festive markets and modern cultural experiences, giving locals and visitors a vibrant taste of Beijing’s living heritage.
