PM Wong on strengthening Singapore-Australia energy security cooperation | Full speech
Singapore will work closely with Australia to strengthen energy security and keep supply chains open amid global disruptions, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Friday (Apr 10).
Both countries agreed to maintain the flow of essential goods, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Australia to Singapore and refined fuels from Singapore to Australia.
Mr Wong said the two countries are working towards a “legally binding protocol on economic resilience and essential supplies” covering energy and other critical sectors.
“This is not just about managing today’s crisis. It’s about building trusted supply lines for a more uncertain future,” he said.
Mr Wong added that strong bilateral trust will help both countries navigate uncertainty and emerge more resilient.
