India and the UK have signed new terms of reference to strengthen their Joint Economic and Trade Committee, paving the way for the next phase of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The deal covers 99% of tariff lines and nearly all trade value, promising new jobs, investments, and deeper cooperation in defence, AI, education, and mobility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that nine UK universities will soon open campuses in India — a major step in bilateral education ties. UK PM Keir Starmer called India a key partner in driving innovation and economic growth.
