नरेन्द्र मोदी की बिहार में दो रैलियां हुईं पहली समस्तीपुर में और दूसरी बेगूसराय में. समस्तीपुर में बिहार के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री भारत रत्न कर्पूरी ठाकुर का घर है. मोदी सबसे पहले कर्पूरी ठाकुर के गांव गए. कर्पूरी ग्राम में जाने वाले वो पहले प्रधानमंत्री हैं. कर्पूरी ठाकुर को भारत रत्न भी नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार ने ही दिया था. कर्पूरी ठाकुर के बेटे रामनाथ ठाकुर इस वक्त मोदी सरकार में मंत्री हैं. चूंकि बिहार में कर्पूरी ठाकुर ही अति पिछड़ों को मुख्यधारा की राजनीति में लाए थे. अति पिछड़ों के लिए आरक्षण की व्यवस्था कर्पूरी ठाकुर ने ही की थी इसलिए चुनाव के वक्त कर्पूरी ग्राम में जाकर मोदी ने बड़ा सियासी संदेश दिया.
Narendra Modi held two rallies in Bihar: the first in Samastipur and the second in Begusarai. Samastipur is the home of former Bihar Chief Minister Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur. Modi first visited Karpoori Thakur’s village, making him the first Prime Minister to visit Karpoori Gram. Karpoori Thakur was also awarded the Bharat Ratna by Narendra Modi’s government. Karpoori Thakur’s son, Ramnath Thakur, is currently a minister in the Modi government. Since Karpoori Thakur was the one who brought the extremely backward classes into mainstream politics in Bihar. He was the one who instituted reservations for the extremely backward classes, Modi’s visit to Karpoori Gram during the elections sent a significant political message.
