Pentagon chief Hegseth visits DMZ ahead of annual US-South Korea security talks
The US and South Korea are set to review their military alliance tomorrow. There has been an unexpected twist to talks scheduled between US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his South Korean counterpart Ahn Gyu-back, as US President Donald Trump recently approved of nuclear submarines for Seoul. Mr Hegseth is on a two-day trip to South Korea — his first since taking office earlier this year. It also marks his first visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone. There are 28,500 US troops in South Korea. Lim Yun Suk reports.
