Part of White House demolished for Trump’s ballroom project
Demolition crews began tearing down part of the White House on Monday (Oct 20) to make way for US President Donald Trump’s planned ballroom — a project he previously said would not interfere with the historic landmark.
The section demolished housed the first lady’s offices, a theatre and a visitor’s entrance that welcomes foreign dignitaries.
The ballroom project, expected to cost more than US$250 million and funded by Trump and “patriot donors,” reportedly also lacked approval for the demolition. #usa #usnews
