Once a popular pastime in the West, paintball has found an enthusiastic audience in Kashmir. What began as a niche activity has quickly become a weekend attraction for kids, youth, and even adults, with families flocking to newly opened arenas across the Valley.
Tajammul Wani, who launched the first paintball venture in Srinagar, says the response has exceeded expectations. “We’ve had standing-room-only crowds. It’s not just a game; it’s an adventure that brings people together,” he said. Wani, who invested his savings into the venture, is now eyeing growth — provided the government backs the sport. “If the authorities recognize paintball as an official sport and provide the necessary clearances and incentives, we can create jobs and boost local tourism,” he added.
