Over $16 Million Spent On 2026 Flava Village Carnival Initiative
Over $16 million was spent on the establishment and operation of the 2026 Flava Village initiative during the Carnival season.

This was revealed in a written question for response by the Minister of Culture and Community Development in the Upper House on Wednesday.

According to documents submitted to Parliament, $13,500,000 was spent on Line Item 28, Other Contracted Services, while in Line 62, $1,484,500 was spent on Promotions, Publicity and Printing.

Smaller amounts were spent on Short-Term Employment, Security, and Construction of Facilities.

The answer also covered procurement processes utilised and the criteria and methodology applied in the award of contracts.

It noted that the criteria were applied in a manner consistent with the principles of transparency, value for money, and fairness as prescribed under the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act.
