NGC Reports Record TT$3 Billion Profit For 2025
The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago has reported a record after-tax profit of TT$3 billion for 2025, the highest in 11 years and double the previous year’s profit.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC at Friday’s sitting of the House of Representatives.
“It is a great sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment that I announce today that the national gas company has reported a profit after tax for the year ended 31st December, 2025, of $3.285 billion.”
She said NGC’s growth is about more than its record $3 billion profit, describing it as evidence of what is possible when national assets are well managed, strategically guided, and driven by a transformational vision.
“NGC plays a central role in Trinidad and Tobago’s economic development. It is critical to government revenues, foreign exchange earnings, downstream industrial development, job creation, and overall economic stability. When the NGC performs well, Trinidad and Tobago perform very well.”
The Prime Minister noted that the new approach augurs well, positioning NGC and the country for stronger growth and long-term stability.
“This is a bold, forward-thinking leadership now managing assets of our country, and leadership we know must understand that our energy sector must evolve, must diversify, must compete globally in order to ensure that T&T resumes its place as the energy capital of the Caribbean and Latin America.”
In 2024, NGC recorded a profit of TT$1.6 billion, while in 2023 it reported an after-tax loss of TT$1.3 billion.
