New York City residents woke up to the remnants of a powerful blizzard that forced school closures and pushed offices and transit systems onto emergency schedules.
The winter storm brought travel to a near-standstill for millions of residents in parts of the U.S. Northeast, including the cancellation of some 5,700 flights.
