New China TV Construction halted to protect baby grass owls in Chengdu
Construction was put on hold in Chengdu after workers discovered a group of baby grass owls, a state-protected species, at the site. Instead of intervening, experts advised letting the parent owls raise their young naturally. With cameras now monitoring the nest, the fluffy chicks are growing steadily — one careful step closer to returning to the wild.
