NDTV Virat Kohli Ends 2025 as World No.2 ODI Batter, Rewrites List-A Records

Virat Kohli has capped off 2025 as the world’s No.2 ODI batter, finishing just behind Rohit Sharma, following another prolific run in List-A cricket.

Kohli’s latest performances for Delhi included a fluent 131 against Andhra and a brisk 77 off 61 balls against Gujarat, underlining his dominance in the 50-over format. The former India captain registered his 16th consecutive List-A fifty, showcasing aggressive boundary-hitting during the powerplay before shifting gears to anchor the innings through the middle overs.

Kohli brought up a rapid half-century off just 29 balls and, in the process, became the fastest batter to reach 16,000 List-A runs, adding yet another milestone to his career. Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, continues to lead the ODI rankings and holds the joint record for the most 150+ scores in the format.
