The political arithmetic for Mumbai’s high-stakes civic battle remains unresolved, with days to go before key alliance announcements for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Sources say the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) is holding crucial talks today with both the Indian National Congress and the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).

While the Pawar-led camp has publicly pushed for a united opposition front, seat-sharing has emerged as the key sticking point. Sources indicate the NCP (SP) is seeking around 50–55 seats, while Congress is reportedly offering close to 30, and the Sena (UBT) camp far fewer.
