In our series “The Cost of Denial,” NBC News’ Maggie Vespa reported on brothers Noah and Hunter. Both have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare genetic disorder that progressively attacks a person’s muscles. Noah was approved for an expensive gene therapy that can help, but Hunter was denied. Soon after our initial story aired, the family received word of a major update.
